question 6

Question 6: What have you learned about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Evaluation Q.3/4: What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? How will you attract.addresds your audience?

This is a video which i posted from Youtube. The film is a hit with 11,705 views which shows that it appealed to the intended audience. The film clearly shows that low-budget films can achieve some sort of success if executed correctly. In addition, with the limited use of special effects in the film, and obviously the low budget it is even harder to make it a success.
Working Title 2 would be the perfect company to distribute our film. Youtube would be one of our main source of promotion. This is used by millions everyday so we have a high possibility of attaining hits. Moreover, websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Myspace etc. Are very popular amongst our target audience: Teenagers. These would be the other main source of promotion for our Thriller Movie.

Question 5: Who would be the audience for your media product?

The target audience for my media product will be teenagers around the ages 18-22. Who has a very busy lifestyle. Similar to Shaz who is 19, working in Top shop and studying English literature at University of Westminster. She has a very busy lifestyle she visits her friends everyday. Her lifestyle involves swimming, bowling, shopping. She owns a dkny handbag and purse, which has credit cards and her work card. She also owes a ipod touch and blackberry as they are they latest technology of communicating with your friends.

Question 3&4 What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? How will you attract/address your audience?

This is a media students work which was uploaded onto youtube on March 11 2007, it was watched by 6656 people, this shows that it was a successful film as it attracted a large audience.
It was a low budget film as of the use of special effect and technology. The best part of this triller was that the story line was made obvious to the audience, as we can see from the text, which shows the story line.
This thriller has similarities to our film as its a thriller about friendship turning into jealousy. Similar to 'Ebony Stone' as they was in a relationship which then turned into a obsession.

For our film it will be appropriate for a working title 2 company to distribute our film, as its a low budget British organisation. The reason being, that our film is targeted towards British teenagers. As youtube is viewed by a lot of people, I feel if our film gets published onto youtube, then we got receive lot of comments and feedback. The internet is also another way of people watching films and sites such as twitter, myspace, Bebo and facebook, are common websites to watch movies and publish them.

question 3&4

If our film was to be produced, it would be under a Working Title 2 (WT2) film for a British audience ages from 16-25 as this age group would be the most suitable audience involved in watching this type of psychological thriller. This film will be produced under Working Title 2 becuase of the production being based around a low budget. the film is mostly aimed at teenagers who are invloved in this type of situation and how they suffer from a mental illness that can convey their actions in a most negative way.

This is a students work to a opening of their own Thriller named 'Twisted' it has 2337 hits displayed on youtube with great positive feedback from the global audience. The story line is simular to ours being an obsessed man following a young girl in order to kidnap her. Seen as how this students film is so popular in the internet and has a simular storyline I believe that my thriller would be as succsessful if produced by a real film company. The camera shots and effects were intelligently portrayed which therefore engaged hundreds of people into watching this. In order to physically show the producers of WT2 my work, i would format it into a DVD and try to display it at a film festival or arrange an audition.

question 5

18 year old Jen, a fashion student at her first year of university has an intense interest in style, dance, hair and beauty alongside with fashionable image making and professional makeup. She studied Dance, Art, Psychology and fashion at her A-levels and passed with compulsive A’s in each subject. She lives in West London in an apartment with her friend Sam which is also a fashion student in the same university. Jen can often be found in exclusive night-clubs, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. On these nights, Jen can indulge in drinking alcohol but is not a regular alcohol consumer throughout the working week, nor does she smoke. She works in a performing arts theatre school as a dance teacher to teenagers from the age 13-17.

Due to her exceptional organisation and leadership skills, she has already been promoted to assistant manager of the organisation for Talented Teenagers Youth Centre. She has an interest in thriller films, particularly psychological and crime thrillers. She enjoys these particular thrillers as it often contains complex storylines which require concentration to understand and also creates suspense. Jen often carries her off the shoulder big bag which she takes with her to work and university. In her bag the following was found: Chanel Chance Perfume, Vaseline, Dior Lip-Gloss, black ‘Stop Knife Crime’ wrists band, keys for Golf GTI, a Oyster card, DVD’s of the films ‘Save The Last Dance’, ‘Devil wears Prada’ and ‘The Ring’, a student ID card, a book called ‘The Child Called It’, a notepad with her drawn chorography’s, mint flavour chewing-gum, a white iPhone with a see-through case, sketched pictures of designer trousers and tops for young women, a set of black and white Adidas tracksuits and a plain t-shirt with black Adidas trainers, a purse that includes two different debit cards from two different banks, Lloyd's TSB and HSBC, a Halifax savings account card, a picture of her boyfriend and younger brother, receipts from Top Shop, River Island and Selfridges with £120 cash.

5) Who would be the audience for your media product?

Our main target audience for 'Ebony Stone' would be the teenage group. Since our film already includes teenagers, this would appeal to them becasue there is nothing unusual or new unlike other films which would include adults. Moreover, a lifestyle summary of a typical teenager could be someone like Lewis. He is a London based sixth-former who enjoys nothing more than hanging out with his mates and having a laugh by going places of interest such as cinemas, bowling alleys, West End etc. He owns a Blackberry phone which is very very popular amongst teenagers at the moment and is seen as a fashion now. He has an oyster card to get around places but mainly from home to college. On the way, he listens to his iPod which is filled with Grime, Hip-Hop, Slow-jams. Being amongst the ladies, he needs his breath to be smelling fresh so he always carries a packet of Extra Freegum. Keys he requires to get home (especially after a long night out), and his cash and cards are stashed in his Wallet.

PITCH

Q2 representation

JAY

STONE

The first still is an image of 'Stone' representing the early youth steroetype of teenage boys in London. Some elements of Mise En Scene was used to portray this clearly to the audience. Examples such as his costume being based around the design of a 'Thug'; hoodies, tracksuits and baggy clothes, represents his Ghetto and mentally depressed character. His 'Stone' tatoo on his neck also shows that he is known by a nick name rather than his real name which therfore expresses his rebellious lifestyle. The character 'Stone' is similar to the chatacter 'Jay' in Adulthood. They both have similar lifestyles trapped within the 'Gutter'

The character 'Stone' is similar to the character 'Jay' in ‘Kidulthood’ and ‘Adulthood’. They both have similar lifestyles trapped within the 'Gutter'. Jay is known for playing urban, streetwise characters on stage and screens. He is an aggressive and tense character and also finds every way to get what he wants from any situation, even if this includes illegal activities. He also has a stereotype of a 'Thug' teenager in London that is most likely to have act against anti-social behaviour.

The second still is an image of 'Ebony' which is a typical stereotype of a girl from an upper-class rich background being interested in her education and family. She has a highly represented status compared to Stone and is able to handle almost every situation with her money. Ebony being a very passive and warm hearted girl is almost gullible to everything. Mise En Scene elements such as her designer Gucci bag and her sense of fashion shows that she is a young girl that doesn't really understand a world which is different from hers and therefore struggles to socialise with people that are not up to her standards.

Evaluation Q.1 In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

e opening of our title sequence and The Shining title sequence is similar as they both have many establishing shots to set the location. Moreover, our sequence shows the location to be a nice, modern setting where it seems 'jolly' and 'cool'. However, the story which follows is nothing like this which is a direct comparison to The Shining where the opening sequence shows beautiful mountain roads and a natural setting which also seems positive but we know that the story line does not support this.

Evaluation Q.5 Who would be the audience for your media product?

The main target audience for my media product would be mainly teenagers aged 16-19 and young adults. As our film includes teenagers, it would be appealing to them because it recalls a lifestyle of some teenagers. A typical lifestyle of a teenager could be someone like Rebecca, 19, a retail assistant in a clothes shop she also goes to college. Loves to go out with friends to places such as bowling, cinema and shopping. She owns an iPhone that is known to be popular within this particular age group. She also owns a iPod where she listens to different kinds of much such as Hip-hop, Rnb, and Bashment she takes it wherever she goes. An oyster card as she travels alot.

Evaluation Q.7 Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Since our preliminary task which involved us filming someone walking through a door. Back then we realised that the lighting was dark so the filming wasnt clear also our tripod wasnt stable which resulted the shot to be uneven. Comparing to the shot in our final production which also involved someone walking through a door we now have realised how to make the shot clearer and so we made the shot even better by better lighting, the tripod in a stable position.

The match cut preliminary task also involved an over the shoulder shot however we found that there was too much empty space in the frame. In addition, our final production, there was another over the shoulder shot which was very similar to our preliminary task. But now, we made sure the frame was equal and there was no empty spaces, and the intention was focused on what was happening.

Evaluation Q.6 What have you learned about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Evaluation Q3 & 4 What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? How will you attract/address your audience?

This is a video I retrieved from Youtube of which was posted by As media students. This video was watched by 2,304 people which shows that this film appealed to an audience. This shows that low budget films can be successful and entertaining with limited technology and the use of special effects. The best thing about this video is the soundtrack and the lighting which has a dark setting.

For our film I think it would will be most appropiate for a company such as Working Title 2 to distribute our film as they are a low budget British organisation.
We would like our thriller to be promoted through sites such as Youtube. As a lot of people go on it this would be the best and easiest way to be promoted as will get a wide audience and it can become successful in a short amount of time. People on Youtube can also give their comments and feedback. As it is a low budget student video I believe that the internet is the best way to promote sites such as Myspace, Facebook, Twitter and other blogging sites would be a good way for an audience to watch our video. As the majority of young people use these sites it would attract our age group.
Ebony Stone will get a cinematic screening.

Evaluation Q.8 Audience Feedback and comment

EVALUATION: 2) How does your media product represent paricular social groups?

One of the two main characters named 'Stone' is a typical street thug who is mentally depressed at the fact that he has been left by his girlfreind Ebony, of whom he has an extreme obsession over. The character's costume consists of hoodies and tracksuits which is typical of a majority of teenagers growing up in London. He is seen during the opening rolling a rizla and has a cigarette on his ear; depicting that he is a heavy smoker.

Stone could be compared to one of the characters of the movie 'Adulthood'. His name is Jay, played by Adam Deacon. He is a rebellious character who is out for revenge against another character, the costume that he wears is a direct portryal of our character Stone and his body language is very similar.

Evaluation Q.2 How does your media product represent particular social groups?

2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Our inspiration has come from the film Adulthood as the character Stone in our film is represented to be like the charactor 'Jay' in Adulthood. The similiararities between these two characters are their costume as they both where street clothing eg hoodies, tracksuits both portrayed to be a bad boy character. He is a stereo typical teenage boy from London from the 'ghetto'. They both have similiar lifestyles. His 'Stone' tattoo on his neck shows that they call him by a nickname rather than his own name this represents the youth. 'Stone' is a direct portrayal of Jay.
The character Ebony is a teenage girl who is family orientated and is down to earth. She is similiar attributes to Joy Bryant; star of the film 'Get rich or die tryin'.

Editing the sequence

To edit our film I used Final Cut Pro. I found this program a bit difficult to use at first, initially I learnt how to use the program as I found out what tools were used for and it became much easier to use. There was a timeline this was mainly used so we can load the footage onto this and then edit it. Using Final Cut Pro, I have learnt many new skills such as the crop tool to cut out unwanted footage, change the length of a shot etc.

Thursday, 1 April 2010

Planning preliminary match cut exercise

We were given the task to film a match cut sequence of a person walking through a door and having a short dialogue with the other person, which had to include an over the shoulder shot. This shot would show the dialogue and facial expression when having a conversation.

Pitch

My group and I had to create a pitch for out film/storyline. The pitch had to include what our film was about, props, locations, health and safety issues and what kind of soundtrack we would have to create so it wouold be appropiate for our thriller genre. Our pitch was presented in front of our media class and two media teachers. We was successful as our main idea was really good. W was also given advice in different ways from our teachers to make a better film.

Skills Audit: Soundtrack Pro

Soundtrack Pro; helped me to discover the use of different sounds to produce a soundtrack being thriller-like that causes tension and suspense. I experimented with a range of different sounds between Jazz and orchestral to distorted and electrical adding effects to keep this up beat. I added a woman's breathing noise while 'Ebony' is being chased in the tunnel by 'Stone'. Placing this sound was rather difficult to keep the actual movement of 'Ebony' in time in order to portray this clearly to the audience. The low drones that I also added, allows the piece to sound rather dramatic. This is one of the main effects that is used to create suspense within a thriller. I then dragged my chosen sounds to the Soundtrack Pro timeline and increased or decreased lengths according to how i wanted my piece to sound.

Health and Safety and Camera

In class, i learnt how to handle and operate a professional JVC camera. I also learnt how to set up and store the tripod properly alongside handling camera apparatus safely. I was shown how to insert a charged battery into the battery compartment of the camera. removing the battery without damaging the camera was also very important. i was taught how to turn the camera on and discover all the operating buttons such the record button etc. I also learnt how to focus the cameral, (manual focus) how to watch what i have recored and how to adjust the camera image according to how bright my surroundings are. as well as learning the functions of a professional, i learnt how to place the camera firmly on top of the tripod adjusting it to various heights on order to meet my filing needs. At first, placing the camera onto the tripod was quite difficult but then I improved on how to do so by sliding the camera into place and hearing a clock (also tightening a screw to make sure the camera is absolutely safe.) This made it easier for the camera to move left, right, up and down. Then I continued to experiment with different types of filming.

I also learnt how to insert and eject a memory stick where all the filming is saved. before filming our piece, we were given two memory cards; A and B which therefore gave us enough space to save our filming onto. We were told that memory cards may not work when inserted into the camera due to the card being locked therefore we were shown how to unlock it in order to save the recorded footage. We was also shown the available memory card space left on the camera which informed us on the available recordings we can carry out furthermore. We eventually saved all our footage on the video drive including, Soundtrack Pro, Final Cut Pro and Live Type.

The Health and Safety aspects:

  • If we are filming in bad weather conditions, we were told to use an umbrella to prevent the camera from getting wet or damaged.
  • Before going out to film, we were told to make sure we carry charged batteries and the correct equipments to work with.
  • Always close the lens of the camera.
  • To make sure the camera is firmly fixed on the tripod.
  • To be careful in what to press in order to prevent changing any menu settings.
  • To take absolute care of the equipment.

Question 2: How does media product represent particular social groups?

2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
The character 'Jay' in adulthood has inspired us. As the aim was to have a character which has many similarities related to him.
Our character 'Stone' has similar thug style clothing e.g. tracksuit bottom, hoodies he also has the bling, and the rebellious, rough personality.
'Jays' character inspired us as he fits the same features we looked for in our character Stone.
They are both stereotypical boys of London, from the ghetto.

Skills Audit: LiveType

Livetype is a program which allowed us to create texts and titles for our thriller opening.
With a large range of fonts and special effects which can be used with the desired font, we were able to choose what colour we wanted our text to be, the size, shadows, saturation etc.
Just like Final Cut & Soundtrack Pro, there is a timeline and here we can choose which text to appear when we want to.

Skills Audit: Final Cut Pro

'Final Cut Pro' was our main resource to edit our clips. With this, we created a timeline of clips by choosing which one goes where.
Final Cut allows us to add effect to our clips and make them to a high quality standard by adding things such as 'in and out points', which determine when a clip starts and stops.

Skills Audit: Soundtrack Pro

For our soundtrack composition, we used the program 'Soundtrack Pro'. This program allowed us to compose various types of sounds from a wide range of resources readily available in the program.

We were able to grab any form of sound effects, from standard instruments such as drums and violins to more explicit sounds such as an explosion or gun shots and make it work into a complete soundtrack.
Other techniques I learnt was to fade sounds into one another and vary the length of sounds.

Location Shots

This is one of the locations from our thriller opening: Greenwich Tunnel. The Tunnel is very enclosed and quiet claustrophobic which all adds up to create a perfect thriller scene. With no where to go apart from a long distance walk to the end, the tunnel was just perfect for the capture of 'Ebony'.

Skills Audit: Livetype and Sound

Livetype

This program allows you to create titles for your film you can also add a variety of different effects to the texts. You can change the text by the use of font, colour, type and animation.
We will use Livetype for our title when introducing the characters and adding the company credits. Livetype has a timeline where you can keep and remove parts you dont want.

Soundtrack Pro

This is where we will make our soundtrack. With this program you can add different effects such as beats, instrumentals etc. This makes your film more entertaining and catches more attention for the audience. Sound brings tension and creates a sense of if something bad is going to happen, it makes certain events lead on.

Into to cameras/health and safety tutorial

In this tutorial we was introduced to the cameras and equipment. We were shown how to use the camera/equipment.

JVC Video Camera
This is the most important tool as it is used when filming for every shot. We were shown the on/off button, zoom in and out and how to view the shots we previously took.

Battery
This provides the energy for the camera as without this it wouldnt work. In the lesson we were shown how to install the battery into the camera and how to take it out.

Tripod
This equipment is used to hold the camera in place which then you can take better, quality shots unless you want a hand held shot. We were shown how to open the tripod and adjust the legs so each ohne was set in the right balance. We were also shown how to place the camera onto the tripod as it has to be locked on and the safe way to take it off.

Memory Card
This is where all the shots are saved. We were shown the memory card slots where the memory card is inserted into. When filming we were given two memory cards(A,b) to ensure that we had enough space to save the filming. We were shown that there was a lock on the memory card and if this was on the card wouldnt work and you wouldnt be able to save or record your filming.

Health and Safety aspects:
Prevent the camera from getting wet
Always close the len ses of the camera
To make sure your battery is charged and all your equipments are working properly before you use them

Location Shots

Locations are very important when filming as it sets the scene and creates an atmosphere, also creates an image for the audience in what the genre of the film would be.

Our film, Title sequence is a pyschological thriller so we decided our location to be in Greenwich tunnel as we were aiming to to show the scene where Stone follows Ebony where he kidnaps her. The location creates more suspense is in what is going to be happen next and to show Stones obsession. The tunnel creates darknesws and no way of escape.

Another location we used is in a house which is used to introduce the characters and show their lifestyle. We used a bridge to show a meeting point which is shown twice in contrast when something good and bad happens.

Saturday, 13 March 2010

Location Shots

Locations- Is important when filimg as it creates a sence of atmosphere and makes your genre more recongnisable.

For example our film is based around a psychological genre, and the locations we are aiming to use is Greenwich tunel.

We want to base it around these areas as the tunnel will give that psychological effect as the tunnel has no end and keeps the audience in suspence. We will use this in our film when Stone is chasing Ebony, to show his obsession. The tunnel gives a great claustrophobic effect as its dark and there's no sign of escape.

The house is used to introduce the characters of the film, by the ways props are used, like the rizzler, Ebony's picture's, and flowers.

The bridge which is used for the central meeting point. The outdoor area, the garden is ued when we see the two character's Ebony and Stone in a relationship all happy and laughing, we see this through facial expression.

Our third location is the City and Islington college canteen. We used this to show the happy relationship of Ebony and Stone's coming to an end.

Skills Audit Soundtrack Pro

This is where all the sound work takes place.

You can add sound effects such as clapping or doors opening, wind blowing etc. To make your film more effective and interesting. Sound builds tension and bring awareness to the audience when something bad is approching.

You can also compose your own soundtrack using all the intruments and features on soundtrack pro to make your own background soundtrack.

Skills Audit Livetype pro

This programme allows you to add text, for the characters name's and title.
In this programme you can make the text appear the way you want it using its features, such as text type, colour, font and animation.
There's alot of varities you can choose from, which allows you to make it appear as accurately as possible.
We will use livetype for our title and when introducing the character's names.
Livetype has a timeline where all the key parts of the title is kept ensuring that you can keep and take off bits you wants to keep and take off.

Intro to cameras&health and safety tutorial

In this tutorial we was introduced to the camera's and equipment. We was shown how the camera works and what is needed. The equipment we was introduces to was:

  • JVC Video camera- This is the most vital tool needed when filming as every shot is filmed using a camera. In the lesson we was shown the on/off button, how to zoom in and out and how to view the shots we have filmed.
  • Battery - This is a second vital tool as it provided enerygy for the camera to work without this the camera would not work. In the lesson we was shown how to put the battery into the camera and how to take it out. We was also shown where the battery on the camera is displayed showing us how much of it is left. We was told that a battery lasts for a day and we are given two when filming.
  • Tripod- This is the third vital equipment we need when we film. This holds the camera and gives accurate and perfect shots unless you want a hand held shot. We was shown how to open the tripod and adjust the legs, we was also shown how to put the camera onto the tripod and what is the save and accurate way of doing this.
  • Memory stick- This is where all the filming is saved, therefore is another vital tool. We was shown the slot where the memory card is inserted into. When filming we are given two memory cards to ensure we have enough space to save out filming onto. We was also shown the memory card and told that if it doesnt work its because its either faulty or it's locked, we was shown how to unlock it, if its locked it means the footage will not be recorded. We was also shown how much memory card space you have used and available on the camera.
  • Memory card reader- This is the where you insert the two memory cards, (memory car A and B) and view you footages onto the computer and edit you film. We was shown how to insert it into the computer and where.
  • Video drive- Finally this is where we store all out footages, including soundtrack pro, live type and fianl cut pro.

The Health and safety aspects we was explained was:

  • To use an unberalla when it is raining, to prevent the camera from getting wet.
  • Always close the lenses of the camera.
  • To make sure you have a charged battery and that all your equipments are working poperly, because you do not want to be travelling back to college as it wastes filiming time.
  • Make sure you have inserted the camera onto the tripod properly and you have checked this by lifting it up.
  • Not to play around with the menu of the camera, as you may press something you do not want.
  • Most importantly use all the equipments as if they was your own, and treat them with respect as they cost alot which will be coming out of your pocket if broken!

Analysis of 9 shots from rt of the title sequence

"The opening title animation is a celebration of graff writers and the subcultures they travel in. Everyone riding the “Wild Style” train conducted by director Charlie Ahearn."

Every image itself shows how graffiti is popular amongst us people and recognised. Zephyr, who came up with this creation mentions how he emerged the words RAP, BREAK, POP", were all varieties of things he was doing on the trains at the time.

The colours and the idea that hip hop maybe one of the reasons behind his creations, attracted me to choose this title sequence. The colours are appealing and dominant they stand out and the way graffiti is shown through a title sequence is interesting. The title sequece is not only pictures itself, but more text the way objects are mixed with words is wonderful.
The images lacks camera work as it works as its all animated and drawn.
The title sequence I think is a inspiration for people.

Preliminary Match Cut Film

In the match cut exercise we could of improved it by:

Change the lighting in the first shotThere is a jump cut off the person walking through the room

Should of change the camera distance

There is not an equal distance between both sides of the shot eg too much blind space

Shot has to be a 1/3 of the eye level

However, we have used over the shoulder shot effectively.

Title Sequence

The title consists of the following information:

  • The title of the film (DEXTER)
  • The names of the actors/actresses
  • The names of the individuals in the production team

The title sequence for ‘Dexter’ clearly indicates a film based under a Psychological/ Horror Thriller. The layout of the different pictures within the image represents a secretive structure which attracts the audience’s attention and engages them to watch the film. The small prints of the different images makes the title seem complicated but serious which therefore helps to relate the film to its original genre; a Thriller.

The caps lock effect on the font connotes a stronger and a bolder style which outlines the figure of the title in a clearer way and emphasis on the letters also by using the colours red, white and yellow to present this effectively. This title sequence also helps to attract more of a male audience rather than a female scene as the pictures are rather disturbing and anti-feminine. The titles appear in different times and having various placing in the frame makes the whole sequence a more interesting and a suspicious piece. The names of the actors are presented in an attractive way being noticed almost the same quality as the pictures printed in the background, which therefore helps the audience to understand each actor has an important role within a particular scene and event during the film.

Suspense is cleverly exposed in this type of title sequence. The pictures within the image is not quite obvious which therefore leaves the audience in a mysterious situation that places thoughts about what type of storyline would be dressed in the film to support the whole sequence.

This type of title sequence can be classified as being very extraordinary in a way where it replaces reality into curiosity for example, in the seventh picture where the inside of an orange is stuffed with bleeding flesh and is rubbed against a sharp surface. The same way where the fifth picture questions if the rapidly torn dented scratches are on human flesh or on animal meat. The first picture however is a spider crawling on a mans arm, using extreme close-up to inform the audience in what it is. This picture could be placed first to the reason where it is designed to create a feeling of goose-bumps adrenalin around the body before the film begins. The last picture being a man having an emotion vulgarly displayed on his face creates a troubled tension that can possibly indicate the film should be watched intently until the last scene. The last scene can be described as the main section of the film because the name of the writer Clyde Phillips is presented to be the final actor in the sequence.

Many close-ups and extreme close-ups are used within this image to emphasise the meaning and the short story of each picture. Basic information is fed to the audience by this way, with the art of not spoiling the spell of the film.

This title appealed to me because it has an extremely psychotic storyboard presentation, leaving the audience distinctly worried about the abnormal shots in the pictures which therefore makes the title not clearly perceived in mind and insists on wanting to watch it.

Strange Days Title Sequence

Strange days is a nourish thriller the movie tells the story of an ex-cop who now deals with data-disks containing recorded memories and emotions. One day he receives a disk which contains the memories of a murderer killing a prostitute. He investigates and is pulled deeper and deeper into the world of blackmail, murder and rape.

In the Title sequence the style of the title Strange Days is in a Sans Serif Font. Titles fall on black before the shots begin. The shot types that have been used are closeups, high and low angle shots.

The Title Sequence appeals to me because it is fast-paced and each shot shows a theme of action and movement.
