Suspense- Déjà vu Analysis

The suspense was created by the way the soundtrack and props were used.
For example violins were being played in the background at a steady speed as the sailors walked, the props used here was the sailors outfits which outlined that they were sailors, we clearly know that the boat is being used for a party as the captain looks at his watch then says “can’t believe it their right on time”, then somebody else replies “ let’s get these boys to their party”.
The suspense is created when the main in the green tries to open the car but the keys are inside the cars, this keeps the audience apprehensive to find out why is the keys inside the car, and whether or not he’s going to open it.
The shot reverse shot of the petrol cans and the man looking into the car , and the happy atmosphere of families gathered together on the boat, then BOMB!... Questions are automatically arise to how the bomb got there and why, and as it’s the beginning 5minutes this engages the audience, to find out what happens after.

  1. Good analysis which shows a clear awareness of how technical elements are used. Good work.
